United Kingdom

The UK is four countries and people mind which one you mean. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have separate football teams, separate legal systems in places, and firm opinions about each other.

London dominates any first visit and it deserves a few days. After that the trains are the point: three hours gets you to Edinburgh, two to the Lake District, and the country changes shape entirely.
