The public market is open 7 days a week year-round and known for its fresh produce, seafood, and artisan crafts. It is also home to a number of restaurants, bars, and shops. Granville Island is a great place to experience the local culture and cuisine. It’s also a great example of an industrial makeover, since it was at one point considered a wasteland, and now is considered an artistic and cultural hub. It is accessible by car or bus, though the ferry or aquabus may be your best bet when traveling to Granville island.
- Museum of Anthropology or MOA at The University of British Columbia: This world-renowned museum houses a collection of over 500,000 artifacts from First Nations cultures around the world. (NOTE: MOA TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL JUNE 2024)
- Venture to North Vancouver and Grouse Mountain to walk the Capilano Suspension Bridge, ride ziplines or hop on the largest aerial tramway in North America—the Grouse Mountain Skyride. In the winter the suspension bridge park does a magnificent holiday lights display, so no worries if you can’t make it in the summer, it is scenic in every season!
