Germany

Most first trips to Germany are Berlin or Munich, and the two could not be less alike. Berlin is flat, cheap by western European standards, and leaves its history out in the open. Munich is prosperous, tidy and closer to the Alps than to anything Berlin cares about.

The thing that surprises people is how green it is. A third of the country is forest, and the train network reaches most of it.
