Belgium

Belgium is small enough that you can be in a different city in under an hour, which makes it one of the easiest countries in Europe to travel without a car. The train from Brussels reaches Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp in less time than most people spend commuting.

It also has three official languages and a long habit of not quite agreeing with itself, which is part of why the food is so good. Nobody here treats chips or beer as a joke.
